Sec. 282.028. OTHER OFFICERS AND DISTRICT EMPLOYEES. (a) The board shall appoint other district officers that the board considers necessary. (b) A person appointed under Subsection (a) serves at the will of the board and is entitled to receive compensation as determined by the board. (c) The board may contract with or employ legal, technical, and professional assistance and other employees. (d) If the superintendent is temporarily incapacitated or absent, the board may designate a competent person to perform the superintendent's powers or duties.
