Sec. 262.0305. MODIFICATION AFTER AWARD. (a) After award of a contract but before the contract is made, the county official who makes purchases for the county may negotiate a modification of the contract if the modification is in the best interests of the county and does not substantially change the scope of the contract or cause the contract amount to exceed the next lowest bid. (b) For the modified contract to be effective, the commissioners court must approve the contract.
