Sec. 26.171. INSPECTION OF PUBLIC WATER. A local government may inspect the public water in its area and determine whether or not: (1) the quality of the water meets the state water quality standards adopted by the commission; (2) persons discharging effluent into the public water located in the areas of which the local government has jurisdiction have obtained permits for discharge of the effluent; and (3) persons who have permits are making discharges in compliance with the requirements of the permits.
