Sec. 214.134. RESOLUTION OR ORDINANCE. (a) In adopting a resolution or ordinance that establishes a building line, a municipality must follow the same procedure that it is authorized by law to use to acquire land for the opening of streets. (b) The resolution or ordinance must: (1) describe the street affected and the location of the building line; and (2) provide a period, not to exceed 25 years after the date on which the line is established, during which structures extending into the area between the street and the building line must be brought into conformance with the line.
