Sec. 1097.054. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE. (a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person: (1) is a resident of the district; (2) owns property in the district subject to taxation; and (3) is more than 18 years of age at the time of election or appointment. (b) A person may not be elected to represent a particular county commissioners precinct unless the person is a resident of that precinct.
