QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE

Sec. 1086.054. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE. (a) To be eligible to be a candidate for an elected position or to serve as an elected director, a person must be:
(1) a resident of the district; and
(2) a registered voter.
(b) To be eligible to serve as an appointed director, a person must be a registered voter.
(c) In addition to the qualifications required by Subsection (a), a person who is elected from a commissioners precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that commissioners precinct.
(d) A district employee may not serve as a director.
