Sec. 1083.054. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE. (a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person is: (1) a resident of the district; (2) a registered voter; and (3) more than 18 years of age at the time of election or appointment. (b) A person who is elected from a commissioners precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that precinct. (c) A district employee may not serve as a director.
