Sec. 1051.002. DIRECTION OF WRIT OR OTHER PROCESS. (a) A writ or other process other than a citation or notice must be directed "To any sheriff or constable within the State of Texas." (b) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a writ or other process other than a citation or notice may not be held defective because the process is directed to the sheriff or a constable of a named county if the process is properly served within that county by an officer authorized to serve the process.
