Sec. 1045.053. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE. (a) To be eligible to be a candidate for an elected position or to serve as an elected or appointed director, a person must be: (1) a district resident; and (2) a qualified voter. (b) A person who is elected from a commissioner precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioner precinct must be a resident of that commissioner precinct. (c) A district employee may not serve as a director.
