Sec. 1006.051. AUTHORITY MEMBERSHIP. (a) The authority is composed of seven members. (b) The governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, shall appoint the following six members: (1) two representatives of motor vehicle insurance consumers; (2) two representatives of insurance companies writing motor vehicle insurance in this state; and (3) two representatives of law enforcement. (c) The public safety director of the Department of Public Safety or the director's designee serves ex officio as the seventh member of the authority. (d) Appointments to the authority shall be made without regard to race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointees.
