Exoneration by payment or delivery

(a) A garnishee, at any time after answer, may be exonerated from further responsibility by paying over and delivering to the officer or court, before or after the return of the attachment, the money and property of the defendant, or so much thereof as may be equal to the property directed to be attached. (b) Such property or money delivered or paid over may afterwards be treated as though attached in the usual manner. Code 1858, § 3483; Shan., § 5243; Code 1932, § 9434; T.C.A. (orig. ed.), § 23-710.
