Appeal from an order of a trial court granting or denying class action certification

The court of appeals shall hear appeals from orders of trial courts granting or denying class certification under Rule 23 of the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, if a notice is filed within ten (10) days after entry of the order. All proceedings in the trial court shall be automatically stayed pending the appeal of the class certification ruling. Acts 2005, ch. 280, §1; 2011 , ch. 510, § 13.
