The county clerk, in addition to the duties prescribed by chapters 1 and 2 of this title, is required, as clerk to: (1) Act as clerk of the county legislative body; (2) Keep a docket of all the causes to be tried in the court; (3) Enter upon the docket every suit, motion and action that may come before the court for trial; (4) Produce to the judge of the circuit court, for the judge's examination at the first circuit court in the judge's county after the first Monday in April in each year, on the second day of the term, the bonds of all officers taken during such year by the county legislative body; (5) Spread on the records of court every bond required to be recorded; and (6) Receive and preserve the journals of congress, statutes and other public documents entrusted to the county clerk by law, and deliver them to the county clerk's successor.
