Employment of personnel for department--Traveling expenses

The auditor

general shall appoint one or more persons qualified by special training and experience, as assistants and may employ such other examiners, auditors, and clerks as may be necessary to do the work of the Department of Legislative Audit, within the limits of existing appropriations, at salaries fixed by the auditor

general within policy guidelines established by the Executive Board of the Legislative Research Council. The auditor

general, his assistants, and employees shall receive their traveling expenses incurred in the performance of their official duties at state rates established by the Board of Finance.
