The education requirement for a certificate, which shall be met before one hundred days after an applicant sits for the examination prescribed in this chapter, is at least one hundred fifty semester hours of college education, including graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate or a graduate degree in accounting, or the satisfactory completion of a course of study which the board has determined to be substantially the equivalent of an accounting degree, including related courses in other areas of business administration. Such courses of study may be in a college or university, recognized by the board.
