South Dakota Code § 32-12-66

Extension of period of suspension for driving while license or privilege suspended--Delayed issuance of new license for driving while license revoked

If the Department of Public Safety receives a record of the conviction of any person under §
32-12-65
for driving a vehicle while that person's driver license or driving privilege was suspended, it shall extend the period of suspension for an additional like period. If the conviction was for driving while a license was revoked, the department may not issue a new license until one year from the date the person would otherwise have been entitled to apply for a new license.
