Voter registration with license application

An individual who registers as a voter when applying for a South Dakota driver license must be a resident of this state, as defined in §
12-1-4
.
Nothing prohibits an individual who does not meet the definition of a resident in §
12-1-4
from applying for a South Dakota driver license without applying to register as a voter.
