Procedure for authorizing directional signs--Compliance with rules

The secretary of the Department of Transportation shall establish a program whereby an individual who qualifies for the sign authorized pursuant to §
31-29-80.3
may petition for a location and be given clearance to erect a sign that conforms to the national standards for directional and official signs pursuant to 23 CFR, Part 750, Subpart (B). The signs erected pursuant to this section shall be installed and maintained by the owner in compliance with the rules of the Transportation Commission.
