To be eligible for protections under §§ 3-6C-33 and 3-6C-34 , a reporter who discloses information about improper governmental conduct or a crime must do so in good faith and upon a reasonable belief that the information disclosed is accurate and true. A disclosure that is made with a reckless disregard for the truth or that the state employee knows or should know is false or malicious is not a good faith report.
