Employer contribution--System contribution--Vesting

A participating employer or the system may make contributions to a participant's account on behalf of the participant, except during an automatic enrollee's ninety-day opt-out period, as provided for in §
3-13-100
. Any employer contributions must be pursuant to a written agreement, as provided for in §
3-13-49.1
. The agreement may require contributions by a participant in order to qualify for an employer contribution and may establish employer contribution rates that partially or fully match the participant's contributions.
The board may establish any system contributions. The board may require a contribution by a participant in order to qualify for a system contribution and may establish system contribution rates that partially or fully match the participant's contribution. Any employer contribution or system contribution vests immediately with the participant.
