Master plan required before approval of urban renewal plans--Adoption of master plan

The local governing body shall not approve an urban renewal plan until a master plan or parts of such plan for an area which would include an urban renewal area for the municipality have been prepared. For this purpose and other municipal purposes, authority is hereby vested in every municipal governing body to prepare to adopt, and to revise from time to time a master plan or parts thereof as defined in §
11-6-14
, for the physical development of the municipality as a whole and to make available and to appropriate necessary funds therefor.
