It is unlawful for a person to wilfully injure or destroy any part of a courthouse or jail in this State or its interior. A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than three years. Effect of Amendment The 1993 amendment rewrote this section so as to change the maximum term of imprisonment to conform to the classification established for each offense.
