The provisions of Chapters 1 and 3 of this title apply to all acts authorized pursuant to this chapter unless the provisions of Chapters 1 and 3 directly conflict with the provisions of this chapter. In that case, the provisions of this chapter control when applied to electronic notaries public and electronic notarial acts. Editor's Note 2021 Act No. 85, SECTIONS 1, 6, provide as follows: "SECTION 1. This act must be known and may be cited as the 'South Carolina Electronic Notary Public Act'." "SECTION 6. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. Electronic online notary public applications will not be accepted for processing until the administrative rules are in effect and vendors of technology are approved by the Secretary of State."
