(A) The National Guard of South Carolina shall consist of the commissioned officers, warrant officers, enlisted men, organizations, staffs, units, and departments of the regularly commissioned, warranted, and enlisted militia of the State, organized and maintained pursuant to law. (B) The Adjutant General may organize units or individuals for state recognized and organized positions. This authority extends to individuals who lack federal service or federal recognition, to the State Guard, and detachments under the authority of the Adjutant General. Effect of Amendment The 2011 amendment designated the existing text as subsection (A); and added subsection (B).
