The Director of the Department of Corrections may award up to two thousand dollars for information leading to the capture of each escaped inmate. Funds to support such awards shall be generated from monies or things of value used as money found in the unlawful possession of a prisoner and confiscated as contraband by the Department of Corrections. Effect of Amendment The 2008 amendment in the first sentence substituted "may award up to two thousand dollars for information leading to" for "shall offer a reward of one hundred dollars for"; and added the second sentence relating to the source of the reward funds. The 2010 amendment substituted "escaped inmate" for "escaped convict".
