(A) The chief of any organized fire department or county fire marshal is ex officio resident fire marshal; however, this chapter does not repeal, amend, or otherwise affect Chapter 25, Title 5. (B) All duties of investigation, inspection, and enforcement vested in the State Fire Marshal may be exercised or discharged within the area of his service by any deputy state fire marshal, any ex officio resident fire marshal, or any state or local governmental employee certified by the State Fire Marshal. (C) The State Fire Marshal shall have the authority to promulgate regulations regarding the training, certification, and recertification of fire marshals, and disciplinary procedures, up to and including the revocation of a certification for cause.
