(A) An assignee is not required to register as a structured settlement purchase company to acquire structured settlement payment rights or to take a security interest in structured settlement payment rights that were transferred by the payee to a structured settlement purchase company. (B) An employee of a structured settlement purchase company, if acting on behalf of the structured settlement purchase company in connection with a transfer, is not required to register with the Secretary as provided under this chapter. Editor's Note 2023 Act No. 22, SECTION 20, provides as follows: "SECTION 20. SECTION 9 through SECTION 16 take effect on January 1, 2024. All other SECTIONS take effect on July 1, 2023, and apply to applications filed on or after the effective date."
