In applying and construing this uniform act, consideration must be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among the states that enact it. Editor's Note 2010 Act No. 132, SECTION 2, provides: "This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies to requests for discovery in cases pending on that date."
