(A) No person may engage in a business activity in this State as to which a license is required by Article 11 of this chapter unless the person first obtains the license. (B) A person who negligently violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars and imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both. The violator also is subject to a one thousand dollar civil penalty. (C) A person who knowingly violates or knowingly aids and abets another to violate this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than ten thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
