Any public procurement unit may enter into an agreement independent of the requirements of Articles 5 and 15 of this chapter with any other public procurement unit for the cooperative use of supplies, services, or information technology under the terms agreed upon between the parties; provided, that such cooperative use of supplies, services, or information technology shall take place only when the public procurement units have good reason to expect the cooperative use to be more cost effective than utilizing their own supplies and services. Editor's Note 2019 Act No. 41, SECTION 80, provides as follows: "SECTION 80. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies to solicitations issued after that date." Effect of Amendment 2019 Act No. 41, SECTION 68, substituted "independent of" for "in accordance with", deleted "or external procurement activity" following "public procurement unit", and substituted ", services, or information technology" for "or services" in two places.
