Upon payment to the board of the requisite fee and submission of a completed application approved by the board, the board shall issue a home inspector license to any person who: (1) Holds a valid license issued by another state or possession of the United States or the District of Columbia that has standards substantially equivalent to those of this state as determined by the board; or (2) Is licensed in this state as a state certified real estate appraiser or to practice architecture or professional engineering, provided the person meets the requirements set forth in § 5-65.1-4(a)(1), (a)(2), and (a)(4).
