Before any commissioner shall perform any duty of the commissioner’s office, the commissioner shall take and subscribe an oath before some officer authorized to administer oaths in the state, country or territory, or District of Columbia, for which the commissioner is appointed, that the commissioner will faithfully discharge all the duties of the commissioner’s office; a certificate of which shall be filed in the office of the secretary of state of this state within six (6) months after the taking of the oath.
