The broadband advisory council shall advise the executive office of commerce on broadband implementation efforts undertaken by the agency including, but not limited to, the development of a state strategic plan and broadband-related investment strategies. The broadband advisory council shall additionally invite telecommunications/IT experts and broadband stakeholders to inform the council. The broadband advisory council shall provide a written report to the speaker of the house and senate president one month after the close of each quarter with the status of Rhode Island broadband efforts and the level and type of funding obligation and expenditure by awardee through any grant program as well as recommendations for accessing further federal or other funding opportunities for as long as federal or state funding is available for this work.
