§ 40.1-5-27. Release of information to patient’s family. Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the release of information to a patient’s attorney, his or her guardian or conservator, if any, or a member of the patient’s family the information that the person is presently a patient in the facility or that the person is seriously physically ill, if the official in charge of the facility or his or her designated agent determines that the release of the information is in the best interests of the person.
