Rhode Island Code § 34-30.1-4

Sale in violation of federal patent or copyright law

(a) If any sale is made under this chapter in violation of any right of a customer under federal patent or copyright law said sale shall be void and unenforceable and all proceeds shall be returned to the customer. (b) A lien under this chapter does not take priority over and shall be subject to an existing perfected security interest.
