Disposition of fines and forfeitures

(a) All fines and forfeitures collected upon conviction or upon forfeiture of bail of any person charged with a violation of any of the provisions of chapters 1 — 46 of this title shall be deposited in the treasury of the state. (b) Provided, a city or town police department, enforcing any motor vehicle violation contained in this title, which results in a conviction, shall receive five dollars ($5.00) from any fine imposed in accordance with the provisions of § 31-41.1-4.
