Front and rear extensions of load

(a) Subject to the provisions of this chapter limiting the length of vehicles and loads, the load upon any vehicle, operated alone or the load upon the front vehicle of a combination of vehicles, shall not extend more than three feet (3′) beyond the foremost part of the vehicle, and the load upon any vehicle, operated alone or the load upon the rear vehicle of a combination of vehicles, shall not extend more than six feet (6′) beyond the rear of the bed or body of the vehicle. (b) Any carrier or persons operating a vehicle that exceeds the maximum extensions of load, as permitted or as defined in this section, shall be fined two hundred dollars ($200) per foot over length or portion of it.
