Use of photostatic copies

(a) Proof of residence status of patients/residents. For purposes of this chapter, the status of the residence of a patient or resident of a facility as that term is defined by § 23-17.8-1(c) may be proved by the contents of a medical chart or record of a facility in which the patient or resident resides or resided. (b) Use of photostatic copies of medical records; Originals held available. Medical charts or records of any facility licensed under the laws of this state that are susceptible to photostatic reproduction may be proved as to foundation, identity and authenticity without any preliminary testimony, by the use of legible and durable copies in accordance with the provisions set forth in § 9-19-39.
