Federal-state agreements

(a) In accordance with the provisions of chapter 27 of title 42, the governor, on behalf of this state, is authorized to enter into agreements with the federal government providing for discontinuance of certain of the federal government’s responsibilities with respect to radiation sources and the assumption of those responsibilities by this state. (b) Any person who, on the effective date of an agreement under subsection (a), possesses a license issued by the federal government shall be deemed to possess the license pursuant to a license issued under this chapter, which shall expire either ninety (90) days after receipt from the administrator of a notice of expiration of the license, or on the date of expiration specified in the federal license, whichever is earlier.
