(a) There shall be a fee, to be paid by the individual or entity making the request as set forth in § 23-1-54, for any letter issued by the department verifying a license which was issued by the department; and (b) The proceeds of any fees collected pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be paid into the state treasury and shall be for the use of the department of health to offset the costs of issuing the license verification letters.
