Until otherwise provided by law, the parties, by agreement filed, may in any civil case dispense with trial by jury, and submit the decision of such case to the court having jurisdiction thereof, and such court shall hear and determine the same; and the judgment thereon shall be subject to writ of error as in other cases. Suspension by Statute. Section 25 was superseded and suspended by section 26(b) of the act of July 9, 1976 (P.L.586, No.142), known as the Judiciary Act of 1976, effective upon the date upon which the provision is or was suspended by general rule. Partial Suspension by Court Rule. Section 25 was suspended November 5, 1975, by Pennsylvania Rule of Appellate Procedure No. 5105(g), effective July 1, 1976, insofar as inconsistent with the Rules of Appellate Procedure. By amendment of December 11, 1978, effective December 30, 1978, the former provisions of Rule No. 5105(g) are now contained in Rule No. 5101(d).
