(a) City.-- When the record of the proceedings under section 232 (relating to filing, notice and return) is recorded, the city form of government shall continue in operation until the first Monday of January after the first municipal election occurring at least 90 days after the recording of the record. (b) Borough.-- After the city form of government is no longer in operation under subsection (a), the borough government shall be organized by the officers elected at the municipal election in accordance with section 805 (relating to election after creation).
