This act shall apply as follows: (1) Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (2), any and all references in any other law to a "district justice" or "justice of the peace" shall be deemed to be references to a magisterial district judge. (2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the provisions of 71 Pa.C.S.
