The board of commissioners may provide street lights and ornamental lighting and make regulations for the protection of lighting. The board may assess the costs of street lighting and ornamental lighting in accordance with Chapter 63 (relating to assessments for public improvements). The board may provide for the erection, maintenance and operation of traffic control signals and devices in accordance with 75 Pa.C.S. (relating to vehicles).
