The board of commissioners may: (1) Acquire, operate and maintain motor vehicles for the purposes of transporting sick and injured individuals to and from hospitals. (2) Appropriate funds toward ambulance and rescue and lifesaving services. (3) Enter into contracts relating to rescue and lifesaving services.
