This act shall apply as follows: * * * (2) The amendment of 71 Pa.C.S. Pt. XXV shall apply only to leaves of absence, military leaves of absence and leaves pursuant to 38 U.S.C. Ch. 43 (relating to employment and reemployment rights of members of the uniformed services) that are granted on or after the effective date of this act, except in the case of a member who died performing uniformed service under 38 U.S.C. Ch. 43, which shall be retroactive to January 1, 2007.
