(a) General rule.-- Except as otherwise provided in section 2705 (relating to political activity), an individual holding a position in the classified service who intentionally violates the provisions of this chapter shall be immediately separated from the service. (b) Duty of appointing authority.-- The appointing authority of the State agency in which the offending individual is employed shall remove the individual at once in accordance with the provisions of this part. (c) Ineligibility after removal.-- An individual removed under this section shall be ineligible for reappointment to a position in the classified service for a period of time to be determined by the Office of Administration.
