The rules and regulations formerly adopted and promulgated by the board pursuant to the pickup contribution provisions of 24 Pa.C.S. Part IV (relating to retirement for school employees), to the extent applicable, shall remain in full force and effect for purposes of implementing this act. Pursuant to the rules and regulations, the employer shall pick up the required contributions by a reduction in the compensation of the employee. 1988, OCTOBER 21, P.L.844, NO.112
