(a) Contracts.-- For the purpose of furnishing gas for light and fuel to the county buildings and for other purposes, the county commissioners may contract for: (1) The drilling of gas wells upon lands owned by the county. (2) The laying of gas lines equipped with modern appliances and machinery as may be necessary. (b) Procedure.-- Contracts under this section, including contracts for the building of rigs or derricks and the purchase of machinery, shall be made by the county commissioners in the manner provided for in Chapter 151 (relating to contracts).
