(a) Request; contents.-- At any time after the execution of a closed-end credit agreement and within one year after the last payment is made under the agreement, the holder of the agreement shall upon the good faith written request of the buyer promptly give or forward to the buyer a detailed written statement that accurately states the total unpaid amount under the agreement. (b) Copies.-- (1) The buyer shall be furnished with one statement under this section each year without charge. (2) The holder shall, upon request, furnish the buyer a duplicate copy of the statement upon payment of a reasonable fee not to exceed the cost of production. (c) Applicability.-- This section does not apply to a transaction in which, instead of periodic statements of account, the buyer is provided with a passbook or payment book in which payments, credits, charges and the unpaid balance are entered.
